Skincare Ads: 13 real examples running now

The skincare ads that hold attention right now lean on proof you can see: a customer quote printed on the image, a before and after from a real treatment room, a jar held up in a phone photo with a story sticker. Polished product renders are the minority. Buyers are skeptical of skincare claims, so the ads that work show a person and a result.

Two groups run most of them. Product brands sell a jar or a serum with a quote or a creator's caption. Local spas and medspas sell a treatment with a photo of the room, the device or the esthetician at work. Both keep the copy plain and the call to action specific.

CTA: Sign up

Hook: A woman holds a jar of cream to her cheek, with "This cream does exactly what it says it will" printed across the frame.

Why it works

The headline of the creative is a customer's sentence, attributed by name, which does more for a skeptical buyer than any brand claim. The Swiss alpine background matches the brand's origin, and the ask is a newsletter signup, an easy first step for a premium product. Live since April 2024.

Seeing progress like this is why I do what I do! Helping my clients feel more confident in their skin is the best part of my job. With the right care and patience, clear skin is possible❣️ Ready to start your skincare…

CTA: Visit Instagram profile

Hook: The same client under treatment twice, stacked top and bottom: inflamed acne in one shot, clear skin in the other.

Why it works

The before and after is the whole argument. It was taken in the treatment room with protective eyewear on, which makes it read as real work rather than a stock image. The caption keeps the tone personal ("why I do what I do") and promises patience, not a miracle.

Wild Gold Tallow ad: Seed Oil Free Tallow Skincare

Image ad · Facebook + Instagram

Seed Oil Free Tallow Skincare

Why is this tallow cream going viral? Because it’s like nothing on the market. Crafted with true first colostrum and locally sourced emu oil for deep repair of aging craggy skin, naturally. We've taken ancestral…

CTA: Shop now

Hook: A hand holds up a jar of tallow balm with story-style stickers reading "OMG first colostrum" and the brand handle.

Why it works

It looks like a customer's Instagram story, which earns attention that a studio product shot would not. The headline names the niche clearly ("Seed Oil Free Tallow Skincare"), so it reaches exactly the shoppers who already care about that.

CTA: Learn more

Hook: A client's face mid-facial, with gloved hands rolling two glowing ice globes across her cheeks.

Why it works

The image shows the treatment in a calm, luxurious way, which is what a high-end esthetics spa sells. The copy names the city (Jacksonville) and positions the spa on results-driven skincare. It has been running since late 2023.

CTA: Learn more

Hook: A mother and two daughters in white robes laugh together while trying a cleansing oil.

Why it works

The family shot says the product is for every skin type and every age without listing them. The copy then does list them (sensitive, reactive, acne-prone, aging) and what the oil removes, from makeup to stubborn sunscreen.

CTA: Contact us

Hook: A smiling woman in a towel turban holds a jar of cream over one eye, with a dab on her nose.

Why it works

The playful image is friendlier than the usual serious spa shot. The offer is built to be tracked: mention this ad on Instagram and get 10% off all services, which also tells the spa which channel brought the client in.

THIS is bananas!!! 🍌 My customer sent me this 9 week difference in her daughter’s lashes using Borboleta! 👏🏻😳😍 As I’ve shared over and over, this lash serum has given me the BEST lashes of my life for 1/3 the cost…

Hook: Two close-ups of the same eye, the lashes visibly longer in the second.

Why it works

The caption says a customer sent in the photos of her daughter after nine weeks, so the proof comes from a buyer, not the seller. The reseller adds her own experience (better lashes for a third of what she paid before), which reads as a personal recommendation rather than an ad.

CTA: Sign up

Hook: A grid of black-and-white headshots of doctors and aestheticians under "FREE: EXPERT SKINCARE, STEM CELL WEBINAR SERIES".

Why it works

It sells to professionals, so the faces of the expert speakers are the proof. The copy asks a qualifying question ("Are you a medical professional?") and offers free education, a low-risk first step before any product conversation.

CTA: Book now

Hook: A full Christmas tree hung with wrapped skincare products instead of ornaments.

Why it works

It turns a holiday sale into a picture: every gift on the tree is something you can buy. The copy gives a floor and a ceiling for the discount (at least 20% off, up to 50% on select items), which is clearer than a vague "holiday sale". The tall vertical frame fills the screen.

Custom Skincare Made Simple For You

Reveal healthier skin with tailored treatments and plant-based formulas. I deliver results with warmth, skill, and trusted care.

CTA: Book now

Hook: An esthetician cradles a relaxed client's face during a facial.

Why it works

It sells the person as much as the service: "I deliver results with warmth, skill, and trusted care." For a solo practitioner, putting her own face in the ad builds trust before the first booking.

CTA: Book now

Hook: A practitioner works on a client lying back on a treatment bed, surrounded by equipment.

Why it works

The headline, "Personalized Skincare Plans That Work", promises a plan rather than one treatment, which suits a spa that wants repeat visits. Sixteen years of experience in the copy answers the trust question.

CTA: Visit Instagram profile

Hook: The two founders sit together in a dark, gallery-style room.

Why it works

Medical aesthetics is bought on trust in the injector, so the ad leads with the people and their credentials (PA-C, senior injectors). The editorial setting makes the practice feel like a boutique rather than a clinic.

CTA: Send message

Hook: A strip of warm sugaring paste being applied to a leg beside scattered rose petals.

Why it works

The image shows exactly what the service is, which matters for a treatment some people have never tried. The copy lists the menu of pampering services and asks for a call, a fit for a small local spa.

Patterns across these ads

  • The customer's words on the creative. Niance prints a buyer's line in quotes across the image, so the testimonial is read before the product name.
  • Before and after in one frame. Treatment providers split the image into top and bottom or left and right, the same face under the same light, so the change is the hook.
  • Phone-quality product photos. The tallow cream is held up in a hand with story-style text stickers, which reads as a customer post rather than an ad.
  • Show the treatment, not the logo. Spas lead with hands on a face, cooling globes, a facial in progress: a picture of what the appointment feels like.
  • A specific small offer. "Mention this ad and get 10% off", "everything discounted at least 20%": small, concrete deals that give a reason to book now.

FAQ

What makes a good skincare ad?

Visible proof and a clear promise. The best ads here show a real result (a before and after, a customer quote, a close-up of lashes) and tell you exactly what the product or treatment is. Vague promises of "glowing skin" over a stock model are the weakest version.

Are before and after photos allowed in skincare ads on Meta?

They are widely used, but Meta restricts ads that imply negative self-perception or make health claims, and it reviews before and after images closely. Keep them honest, use real clients with permission, avoid extreme claims, and check Meta's advertising standards for your category before you run them.

How should a spa or esthetician advertise skincare services?

Show the experience and the person doing it. The spa ads here use photos of a facial in progress or the esthetician with a client, name the treatments plainly (HydraFacial, laser, custom facials) and use Book now. A small first-visit incentive helps people try someone new.

Where do these skincare ad examples come from?

They come from the public Meta Ad Library, which shows active ads on Facebook and Instagram. The ads belong to the brands and spas that run them. We chose them for clear creative and a usable idea, and we have no access to their results.
