Perfume Ads: 12 real examples running now

The best perfume ads running right now solve one problem: you cannot smell a phone screen. They answer it in three ways. A mood-setting image shows the feeling of the scent, a list of notes lets you imagine it, or a real person's words describe wearing it every day.

Big fashion houses use a famous face and a dramatic bottle shot. Indie and niche brands go the other way, with candid photos, customer quotes and a founder's voice, because they have to build trust first.

The new face of COCO MADEMOISELLE CRUSH ABSOLU. Singer-songwriter Gracie Abrams is the ambassador for the COCO MADEMOISELLE CRUSH ABSOLU fragrance. She embodies a woman who follows her instincts and whose magnetic…

CTA: Learn more

Hook: A dim, cinematic portrait of a woman draped in pearls, framed like a still from a film.

Why it works

The image sells an attitude, not a bottle, which is how a fragrance house builds desire before anyone smells the scent. The copy names the new ambassador and gives one clear idea of the woman the scent is for: someone who follows her instincts. Even a brand this big keeps the ad to one image and a few lines.

NEW Vendetta by Valentino

Discover VENDETTA Uomo, the NEW woody fragrance by Valentino, with notes of ginger shot, cinnamon liquor, and patchouli.

CTA: Shop now

Hook: A glowing amber bottle with a bold V cut into the glass, surrounded by ginger, cinnamon sticks and leaves on a black and orange background.

Why it works

Every object around the bottle is one of the notes, so the image works like a visual ingredient list. The copy repeats them in words (ginger shot, cinnamon liquor, patchouli) and names the family, woody, in one sentence. "NEW" in the headline gives a launch reason to look now.

You Will Wear This Forever

"I received my first bottle of Riddle Original from a friend. She wore it every day and always smelled amazing! I am very sensitive to perfume scents. Often, I will think that I like a certain scent, wear it, and…

CTA: Shop now

Hook: A plain phone photo of a small roll-on bottle held in a manicured hand inside a car, with the headline "You Will Wear This Forever".

Why it works

The photo looks like something a customer took, which matches the copy: a long review from a buyer who is sensitive to most perfumes but is now on her third bottle. That answers a specific objection through a real-sounding person. The candid image stands out in a feed full of polished bottle shots.

Belk

Spread your wings out wide and live your life loud and free with La Bomba, the fragrance by Carolina Herrera.

CTA: Shop now

Hook: Carolina Herrera's pink stiletto-shaped bottle on a clean white background.

Why it works

When the bottle itself is famous, the job is to show it clearly, and a white background does that. A department store running the brand's product as a catalog ad lets shoppers buy from a retailer they already trust. The one-line copy gives the scent a personality, loud and free, without a long pitch.

When a visonary maison meets a passionate perfume collector, the connection feels like destiny — and new creations begin.

CTA: Visit Instagram profile

Hook: A man sitting in a rose garden in soft evening light, surrounded by pink blooms.

Why it works

Roses are the most recognizable perfume ingredient, so placing a person among them says something about the scent without showing a bottle. The editorial look matches a high-end maison that sells to collectors. The short caption hints at a collaboration story and sends people to Instagram to learn more.

Hook: A model in pale pink riding gear holding a pink bottle against a sunset sky and old stone buildings.

Why it works

The pink palette runs through the clothes, the sky and the bottle, so the image sets the scent's mood before you read. The copy lists five notes, from strawberry to vanilla, and labels it an extrait, which signals strength to perfume buyers. It ends on a question about which note you would pick, which invites comments.

Why it works

Candles are fragrance you buy for the home, and the warm glow plus the cozy red sells autumn in one look. The copy is short and gives two trust points: female founded and hand poured in Arkansas. It has been running since August 2022, which shows how far a simple seasonal image can go.

Hook: A close beauty shot of a woman holding a dark, round-capped bottle next to her face.

Why it works

It teases a scent that is "soon" for sale, which builds a waiting list of interest before launch. The dark bottle and the copy's moody words fit the scent's name, Shadow. For an independent perfumer, sending people to Instagram lets them follow the launch instead of facing a buy button too early.

Travel with YOUR cologne

CTA: Shop now

Hook: The headline "Travel with YOUR cologne" next to a black leather travel atomizer standing by a shaving brush.

Why it works

It sells an accessory to people who already love their cologne, so the headline talks straight to that habit. The shaving brush and dark styling place it in a men's grooming routine without a word of body copy. It has been running since September 2024 with no body text at all, which shows how much a clear headline and image can carry.

CTA: Visit Instagram profile

Hook: A cream bar of soap stamped "Since 1887" balanced on a stack of marble blocks.

Why it works

CTA: Shop now

Hook: Pastel incense sticks standing in a mossy, misty forest scene with tiny mushrooms.

Why it works

The dreamy setting matches the copy's idea of a ritual and makes incense feel like a gift object. The brand turns four existing fragrances into a new format, which gives fans of the scents another way to buy. The copy also mentions the ceramic mushroom holder, so the buyer knows what comes in the box.

Transform your space with our aromatherapy diffuser. Adjustable fragrance levels and backflow incense create a soothing ambiance.

CTA: Contact us

Hook: Roll-on oil bottles, dried lavender and a tin of loose botanicals laid out on burlap with stones.

Why it works

Patterns across these ads

  • Notes spelled out like a menu. Valentino and Unique'e Luxury list the actual ingredients (ginger, cinnamon, patchouli; strawberry, peony, praline), so the reader builds the scent in their head.
  • The bottle as the hero object. Valentino's red V, Carolina Herrera's stiletto and Chanel's styling all treat the bottle like jewelry, shot large with bold color behind it.
  • A testimonial instead of a description. Riddle hands the whole ad to a customer named Heather, who explains why a subtle scent works for someone sensitive to perfume.
  • Mood over product. Henry Jacques, Portals and Aromatique show a rose garden, a mossy forest and a candle in someone's hands. They sell the feeling rather than the liquid.
  • Instagram as the destination. Several niche brands send people to their Instagram profile instead of a store, which suits a scent that needs a bit of storytelling before someone buys.

FAQ

How do you advertise a perfume when people cannot smell it?

Describe it in terms people can feel. List the key notes, show a setting that matches the mood (warm and dark for a woody scent, bright and soft for a floral), or let a real customer say how it wears through the day. The ads here that work best do at least two of those at once.

Do perfume ads need a celebrity?

No. Chanel and Valentino use famous faces and big production because they can, but the smaller brands in this set rely on a customer quote, a founder's voice or a striking photo. For a new brand, a believable review usually does more than a lookalike luxury shoot, because the buyer is deciding whether to trust you.

What should the copy in a fragrance ad include?

The name of the scent, its family (floral, woody, fresh) and three or four notes make a solid base. Add who it is for or when to wear it, and one reason to buy now if you have one. Keep adjectives to a minimum: "ginger shot, cinnamon liqueur and patchouli" tells the reader more than "seductive and unforgettable".

Should perfume ads send people to the store or to Instagram?

It depends on how well people know you. Known brands and retailers like Belk send traffic straight to a product page. Niche perfumers often point to Instagram first, because a profile full of posts, reviews and behind-the-scenes content does the convincing a single ad cannot.
