Spotify Ads: 16 real examples, live and recent

Spotify's ads right now sell features rather than the catalogue. A celebrity couple shows off Daylist and Mix, audiobooks get a free-trial bookshelf, and the free tier gets loud sticker-collage creative. A second stream of ads talks to musicians instead of listeners, with tips, stats and tools from Spotify for Artists.

The Wrapped idea still runs through it. The year-end recap that listeners screenshot and share every December shows up here as Wrapped for Artists, and the "It Gets You" ads make the same promise Wrapped does: the app knows your taste. The difference is scale. Wrapped is one big yearly moment, while these ads teach one small personal feature at a time.

Spotify ads, live and recent

Every ad below is in the public Meta Ad Library and belongs to the brand that ran it. Most are still live; the ones that have ended say so on the card. We show a still frame, the copy, and our read on why it works.

Spotify ad: Spotify - It Gets You
Running since May 2026

Video ad (still frame) · Facebook + Instagram

Spotify - It Gets You

Search 'Daylist' to get your day in a playlist.

CTA: Install now

Hook: A celebrity couple holds up a phone showing a playlist called "thoughtful poetic sunday afternoon", which is funny and oddly specific at the same time.

Why it works

The copy is an instruction, not a claim: "Search 'Daylist' to get your day in a playlist." Famous faces earn the stop, and the hyper-specific playlist name proves the "It Gets You" line without saying it. Viewers leave knowing exactly what to type.

We said you’d know when it’s time 🎁 Unwrap your 2025 Wrapped for Artists to see what the biggest fan event of the year has in store for you! Log into Spotify for Artists and head to the home tab to access yours now 🌐

CTA: Learn more

Hook: An artist's Wrapped card with big numbers for listeners, hours, streams and countries, styled like the cards fans post every December.

Why it works

Spotify takes its best-known format and points it at musicians, so the ad needs no explanation for anyone who has seen Wrapped. "We said you'd know when it's time" plays on the yearly anticipation, and the body gives one clear step: log in and open the home tab. It ran for about a week, which suits an event-timed message.

Spotify - It Gets You

Just add 'Mix' to anything and get a playlist made for you

CTA: Install now

Hook: The same couple, now on a sofa, with a "Chill Mix" playlist filling the phone screen.

Why it works

"Just add 'Mix' to anything and get a playlist made for you" is a one-line tutorial that works with the sound off. Running it as a sibling to the Daylist ad lets the campaign teach several features with the same faces, so each new ad feels familiar but says something new.

Spotify ad: Get 1 Month Free
Running since September 2026

Dynamic creative · Facebook + Instagram

Get 1 Month Free

Play your favorite songs, your way with Spotify Premium. Try 1 month free.

CTA: Sign up

Hook: A chaotic group of friends crammed into the frame around a chunky "Get 1 month free".

Why it works

The offer is the only thing in big type, so the ad reads in a second. A small "The next song? Your call." chip names the Premium benefit, picking your own songs, without a feature list. The friends sell the feeling and the trial sells the action.

Carousel · Facebook + Instagram

Spotify

Just 2% of listeners drive 18%+ of streams and 50% of ticket sales. Grow your super listeners with Spotify for Artists.

CTA: Learn more

Hook: "Meet your loyal fans" over a glowing fan icon and a two-line stat: 2% of listeners equals 18%+ of streams.

Why it works

For a musician that stat is a reason to care, and it makes the case for the "super listeners" tools before asking for anything. Purple and gold gradients keep it on brand while looking nothing like a listener ad. As a carousel, the first card only has to land the number and the next cards explain how.

Spotify ad: Pitch to Spotify Playlists
Ran August 2025 to December 2025

Video ad (still frame) · Facebook + Instagram

Pitch to Spotify Playlists

Get your music discovered by global audiences. Use Spotify for Artists to pitch your tracks to playlists.

CTA: Learn more

Hook: A woman speaks straight to camera under the caption "Tip 3. Deliver early please! (AT LEAST 2 weeks)".

Why it works

Numbered tips from someone who sounds like they work on the playlist side feel like insider advice, not an ad. The tip is concrete and a little pleading, which makes it believable. It leads naturally into the headline, "Pitch to Spotify Playlists".

Spotify ad: Give every step a soundtrack.
Running since November 2025

Video ad (still frame) · Facebook + Instagram

Give every step a soundtrack.

Play your favorites, and discover new music and podcasts.

CTA: Install now

Hook: A hand holds a giant phone reading "GET SPOTIFY FOR FREE" in front of a hot-pink, halftone collage.

Why it works

The phone screen is the headline, so the product and the offer are the same object. Clashing neon and cut-out figures look more like a gig poster than an app ad, which helps in a feed full of screenshots. "Give every step a soundtrack" adds a reason to install on top of the price.

Get Spotify Free

From their headphones to yours. Discover it on Spotify Free.

CTA: Install now

Hook: Three faces in a split screen, each reacting to a song, above "Find it. Hear it. Share it."

Why it works

The three panels mirror the three verbs, and the bottom row shows the app's search bar and friend avatars. "From their headphones to yours" pitches discovery through people, not algorithms. It was one of several free-tier variations that ran in the same week.

Don’t stop mid-story. Try Audiobooks free for 3 months.

CTA: Listen now

Hook: A bookshelf of recognisable covers with "Try Audiobooks+ free for 3 months" slotted in like a shelf label.

Why it works

Real covers do the explaining: these are bestsellers, not a niche catalogue. "Don't stop mid-story" names the exact moment a listener doesn't want to hit. Three months is long enough to feel like a real trial rather than a teaser.

Spotify ad: 4 New Taylor Swift Songs
Ran September 2026 to October 2026

Dynamic creative · Facebook + Instagram

4 New Taylor Swift Songs

The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore is out now. Stream Taylor Swift's bonus tracks on Spotify.

CTA: Install now

Hook: Taylor Swift's "The Encore" cover art next to "The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore is here. 4 new Taylor Swift songs."

Why it works

The news is the hook. Fans already want those four songs, so Spotify only has to say where to hear them, and the landscape layout reads like an announcement card. A Spanish version ran alongside it, an easy way to reuse one release asset across markets.

Get Spotify for free

From start to finish, Spotify has your commute covered. Listen for free.

CTA: Install now

Hook: A cut-out of a young man surrounded by a bike, a smartwatch and a road sign, under a highlighted "Listen for FREE!"

Why it works

The objects around him place the ad in the commute without showing a train or traffic. "Whatever your route, there's music for it" is a soft, everyday reason to install. Highlighter yellow on "FREE" makes the price impossible to miss.

Carousel · Facebook + Instagram

Spotify

3 ways to upload music videos to Spotify. Which one are you uploading first? 📽️

CTA: Learn more

Hook: A tilted grid of music-video stills under "3 video formats you can upload to Spotify", with an arrow pointing right.

Why it works

The arrow says carousel and the number promises a short list, two reasons to swipe. The body ends on "Which one are you uploading first?", a question that assumes the artist will do it. It's a how-to dressed up as a moodboard.

Spotify ad: Drive Album Pre-saves
Ran December 2025 to May 2026

Video ad (still frame) · Facebook + Instagram

Drive Album Pre-saves

Set up Countdown Pages to encourage your fans to pre-save and boost streams!

CTA: Learn more

Hook: A musician mid-sentence, with plain subtitles reading "announce the album."

Why it works

An artist talking through their own release plan makes Countdown Pages feel like a tool peers use. The headline, "Drive Album Pre-saves", names the outcome musicians care about, and the body names the feature that gets them there.

A new era of Fresh Finds is here. Introducing Fresh Finds Forward, Spotify’s global program that will give approximately 10,000 emerging independent artists each year the resources, community, and support to turn early…

CTA: Learn more

Hook: A torn-paper collage of performers on stage with "FRESH FINDS FORWARD" stamped across the top.

Why it works

The scrapbook look signals indie and grassroots, which matches a program for emerging artists. The body spells out who it's for and what they get. Because the collage style matches the listener ads, even an artist program looks unmistakably Spotify.

Dynamic creative · Facebook + Instagram

Get Spotify Free

Start listening and keep exploring. Listen on Spotify Free.

CTA: Install now

Hook: The Spotify player itself, with a play button, a progress bar and a track called "A Song You'll Love".

Why it works

Using the app's own interface as the creative makes the ad a preview of the product. The placeholder track name is the pitch: install, and the next song will be one you like. "See where music takes you" keeps the copy light.

Spotify ad: The Joe Rogan Experience
Running since October 2026

Video ad (still frame) · Facebook + Instagram

The Joe Rogan Experience

One episode leads to endless stories with Joe Rogan. Watch or listen to full episodes of The Joe Rogan Experience on Spotify.

CTA: Watch more

Hook: Joe Rogan mid-conversation at the mic, with a subtitle already running.

Why it works

It looks like a clip from the show rather than an ad, so the scroll pauses on the content. "Watch or listen to full episodes" tells viewers the video version lives on Spotify, which is the real news here. "Watch more" fits someone who just watched a few seconds.

Patterns across these Spotify ads

  • One feature as the headline. Daylist, Mix, Lyrics, Countdown Pages: the strongest ads name a single feature and show it on a phone screen, so the viewer leaves with something to try.
  • Two audiences, two tones. Listener ads are bright and playful and end on "Install now". Artist ads are talking-head tips and stat cards that end on "Learn more".
  • Free first, paid second. Most install ads put "free" in the headline or on a giant phone screen, while Premium and Audiobooks+ get a time-boxed trial of one or three months.
  • Collage and sticker styling. Cut-out people, halftone colour and tilted labels make the free-tier ads look like gig posters, which stands out next to plain app screenshots.
  • Riding big releases. Taylor Swift's bonus tracks, a BTS album and a Joe Rogan episode each get their own ad, borrowing attention the artist already has.

FAQ

What kind of ads does Spotify run on Instagram?

Mostly vertical video and bright static images built for Stories and Reels. Listener ads push the free app, Premium trials and audiobooks with "Install now" or "Sign up", while a separate set targets musicians with Spotify for Artists tips and tools. Quick release ads also appear whenever a big album or episode drops.

Does Spotify still use Wrapped in its ads?

Yes, but in a narrower way. The Wrapped ad here is Wrapped for Artists, which shows an artist's year-end card with listeners, streams and countries and tells musicians to log in and open theirs. Listener Wrapped mostly spreads through people sharing their own cards, so the paid ads lean on everyday personalisation features like Daylist and Mix instead.

How can a small brand copy spotify's ads?

Pick one feature a customer can try in under a minute and make it the headline, the way "Search 'Daylist'" does. Show it working on a real screen, keep the copy to one instruction and give it a single call to action. If you sell to two audiences, split the creative and the tone instead of writing one ad that tries to talk to both.

Why does Spotify advertise to musicians?

Artists bring their fans to the platform, so tools that help them release and promote music are worth paying to explain. These ads teach pitching to playlists, Countdown Pages for pre-saves and uploading music videos, and each one ends on "Learn more" rather than a hard sell.
