Funny Ads: 10 real examples running now

The funny ads that hold up on Facebook and Instagram make one joke about the product's real job, then sell. Poo~Pourri jokes about bathroom smells, DUDE Wipes puts a caveman next to dry toilet paper, and Liquid Death treats canned water like heavy metal. In each, the laugh and the reason to buy are the same thing.

Humour also buys attention for products nobody wants to talk about. Toilet spray, body groomers and wet wipes are awkward to advertise straight, and a joke gives people permission to look.

DUDE Wipes ad: Wipe wet, history's watching
DUDE WipesRunning since October 2026

Video ad (still frame) · Facebook

Wipe wet, history's watching

Pagers. Dial-up. Dry wiping. Somethings are better left in the past. DUDE Wipes: we'd never leave your behind behind us.

CTA: Shop now

Hook: A scowling caveman stares at the camera, under the headline "Wipe wet, history's watching".

Why it works

The copy lists "Pagers. Dial-up. Dry wiping." as relics, which makes toilet paper alone feel outdated. "We'd never leave your behind behind us" is a pun that sticks, and the caveman makes a gross topic easy to laugh at.

Hook: A bearded man tilts his head back with his eyes closed, captioned "Your girl keeps accusing you of cheating,".

Death Wish Coffee ad: The great pumpkin coffee returns
Death Wish CoffeeRunning since August 2026

Dynamic creative · Facebook + Instagram

The great pumpkin coffee returns

This isn’t your basic PSL. Get bold coffee with a chai-inspired blend of cinnamon, cardamom and nutmeg.

CTA: Shop now

Hook: A five-star review in big red type: "Beats the St*rb*cks pumpkin latte by 1000%."

Why it works

The starred-out rival name is a wink everyone gets, and the exaggerated percentage reads as a fan's joke, not a claim. "This isn't your basic PSL" picks a playful fight with the most famous fall drink.

DUDE Wipes ad: Ditch the itch
DUDE WipesRunning since October 2026

Video ad (still frame) · Facebook

Ditch the itch

Woodstock was muddy. Your underwear doesn't have to be. Grab a pack of DUDE Wipes. Best Clean. Pants Down.

CTA: Shop now

Hook: The DUDE Wipes caveman returns, with "Ditch the itch" as the headline.

Why it works

"Woodstock was muddy. Your underwear doesn't have to be." uses a history gag to land a hygiene point. The sign-off "Best Clean. Pants Down." is the kind of line people repeat.

Mint Mobile ad: The time to save is now
Mint MobileRunning since October 2026

Video ad (still frame) · Facebook + Instagram

The time to save is now

The limit to saving does not exist. New customers get premium wireless for $15/month ($45 upfront).

CTA: Shop now

Hook: Mint Mobile's celebrity owner, Ryan Reynolds, stands in front of the Mint logo in a navy jacket.

Why it works

"The limit to saving does not exist" borrows a famous movie line, so the joke lands with anyone who has seen it. A familiar face plus a deadpan line sells a price offer without feeling like one.

Mint Mobile ad: Stop overpaying for wireless
Mint MobileRunning since September 2026

Video ad (still frame) · Facebook + Instagram

Stop overpaying for wireless

It's a beautiful day to save with Mint. New customers get premium wireless for $15/month ($45 upfront).

CTA: Shop now

Hook: A man in a striped shirt sits at a café table with "I'M NOT GONNA" as the opening caption.

Why it works

The unfinished line makes you wait for the rest of the sentence. It plays like a skit, and then states the offer in plain numbers: premium wireless for $15 a month.

Patterns across these ads

  • Joke about the problem, not around it. The best ones name the embarrassing thing outright: cat pee, toilet smells, chafing.
  • Puns in the headline. "Indulge your sweet toot" and "Trim the fluff" do the joke in three words, so it works at a glance.
  • Creators deliver the punchline. Several of these are first-person videos where a person sets up the joke in the caption, like "secret to my relationship?".
  • The offer stays plain. Even the silliest ads end with a straight product line and a Shop now button, so nobody is confused about what is for sale.

FAQ

What makes a funny ad work?

The joke has to point at the product's benefit. If the joke still works with the product removed, people will remember the joke and forget the brand. The examples here all laugh about the exact problem the product solves.

Do funny ads work on Facebook and Instagram?

Humour is one of the most reliable ways to stop a scroll, and Liquid Death, Old Spice and Dollar Shave Club built their names on it. It still needs a clear offer after the joke, which is why every ad here ends with a product line and a button.

Are funny ads risky?

They can be, if the joke punches at the customer or needs explaining. Aim the joke at the problem or the old way of doing things, as DUDE Wipes does with dry wiping, and test a straight version alongside it.
